Albury & District LALC announce appointment of new CEO
The A&DLALC Board of Directors is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr Jade Miller to the position of Chief Executive Officer.
Mr Miller comes to the A&DLALC from Victoria(Yorta Yorta Country), where he has held a sequence of key positions in the public service since 2002, culminating in Chief Executive Officer of Yorta Yorta Nation Aboriginal Corporation(YYNAC).
The Directors initiated a balanced and independent recruitment process to find the best person with the best skill-set. We were pleased with advertisement response and all applicants were of high standard. Jade brings with him an enormous amount of knowledge, experience and know how that will benefit our community. He has extensive experience in the environmental sustainability, capacity building, community strengthening and social and economic development, and supports his capabilities with working experience and exposure to successful community development models in Canada and New Zealand.
When asked what was going to be first on his agenda for the A&DLALC, He responded by saying “I am looking forward to working with the directors, staff, elders and all sections of community, and further drive and enhance aboriginal social, environmental and economic inclusion in this part of the world. There is great potential here and I’m looking forward to working with everyone to progressively bring potential further towards reality. It’s very much achievable”.
The Directors go on to add ‘The community have carried out a high amount of consultations (within budget constraints) and have developed plans and strategies – it’s time for immediate action now. Community deserves nothing less than the right people to get the job done. We think Jade is an excellent fit for the organisation at this exciting time in our progress’.
The Directors with the CEO have immediately moved to develop and launch its very own website that will firstly, aim to get everyone on same page, and then continue to act as the main source for information, communication and promotion. The website will also go a step further in providing access to the State Peak Body NSWALC & all funding partners to a secure portal that will create a gateway for transparency, monitoring and evaluation of the organisation for purpose of enhancing working relationships and A&DLALC progressive growth.
Mr Miller will commence his role as Chief Executive Officer on 17 June, 2013 and will be based at the main offices at 917 Chenery St, Glenroy.

The day will begin with the welcome and flag raising.
Followed by local didgeridoo player and local Aboriginal dancer’s performance.
* There will be a BBQ breakfast for those who would like a hot breaky.
* For the health conscious there will be a variety of cereals and or toast.
* Tea coffee juice will also be available on the day.
